Heather Williams (she/they) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who utilizes a strengths-based perspective to help people navigate their unique mental health journeys in managing stress, overcoming anxiety, and improving relationships. Heather completed her Master of Social Work degree at North Carolina State University. There, she graduated as an Opioid Workforce Expansion Program (OWEP)
Scholar, where she focused on psychotherapy approaches for clients managing substance use disorders. Heather has served young people and families across North Carolina for over a decade as a sexual health educator and knows that positive behavior change requires support and shared community. Heather is passionate about every person’s right to self-determination and finding a healing path forward that feels
authentic to them. This includes the ability to meet their life goals, strengthen support systems, and overcome everyday stress, as well as trauma.

Heather believes in the importance of meeting people where they are as partners in the therapeutic process. As a licensed clinical social worker, Heather works within a trauma-informed, person-centered framework that recognizes the systemic impacts social inequity can have on mental health. Therefore, her approach to therapy is not one-size-fits all. This allows clients to become curious about the possibilities in their lives, and to strengthen their ability to initiate lasting change. Her practice is informed by evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Heather looks forward to building opportunities for growth with you.

Heather is available to meet clients throughout North Carolina via online appointments and has weekday availability from 9am to 4pm.
