I’m Kylie Peele, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in North Carolina – here to guide you through the stress, sadness, joy, anxiety, and excitement life can bring. I truly care about my patients’ well-being and dedicate myself to continuing my education to continue to support you in the most up to date, effective way possible. Since 2018, I have provided several specialized therapeutic services to oppressed individuals including those experiencing homelessness, LGBTQIA+, those experiencing serious persistent mental illness, foster families, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

I have a personal vested interest in those with chronic illness, LGBTQIA+, and those involved in the kink/BDSM and/or ethically non-monogamous communities, as I am also a part of those communities! I think serving the communities you are involved in is one of the best ways to shed light on communities that may often not be a part of “common” culture.

I have served individuals in several settings, all of which have taught me something different about the social work profession and the individuals involved in those settings. I have worked in group homes, day work programs, medical and mental health hospital facilities, the prison system, and in community mental health settings. My personal experiences in mental health and the medical field also inform my approach to coping with mental health and chronic illness issues for my clients. Though I have experience in the kink and the ENM worlds, I think you are the expert in your life and relationships, so I encourage autonomy while providing alternative views to ensure your safety within your relationships.

I have been married for 5 years to a wonderful husband. We have 2 chosen fur babies, Eric and Butters, who I guarantee will make an appearance at least once in your sessions. My husband and I practice ethical non-monogamy and have been involved in our local kink scene since much before we were married. I believe sexuality is ever evolving for most people, me included. In my free time, I love making funny vinyl t-shirts and stickers, cuddling with my kitties, listening to true crime podcasts, and watching trashy reality tv and true crime documentaries.

Unlike “traditional” or more old school therapy, I think my self-disclosure sometimes encourages and provides support to my clients. I will not share enough that you think we are besties, but I think self-disclosure does have a place in therapy if it helps my clients. And since I have the desire to help my own community, self-disclosure is mandatory. Because of this unique relationship, I know there are chances to see each other in the “real world”, and I hope you know I would never out you by saying hello in the community without you first saying hello to protect your privacy.
